Life's too short...

Friday 12th March -

Headed to York again this weeked - you've probably realised there's someone rather special in that city - the drive was fine, no business men tried to kill me in their metallic BMW's this time. There was unusual Greek food waiting for me, which to my surprise I enjoyed, despite my reservations, and some Hobgoblin beer.

Showed off my new photos and got an approving response back, and I got to hear the new Univited Guest track...before anyone else (sorry Dean!) and was mightly impressed by the immense and haunting sound.

More music, talking and lots of beer and wine later it was probably getting on for 2.30am....

Saturday 13th March -

Woke up with lack of hangover, which immediately made me suspicious but grateful at the same time, and after faffing around curling my hair (to go with my trousers - don't ask) we walked into town enjoying the first fresh, bright day of spring. A (relatively) quick trip to Boots to stock up on make-up supplies then a lovely al fresco lunch, at La Place Vert by the river, of toasted sandwiches (why don't I eat these more often?!) and some continental beer...at 10.5%.

After a bottle of Piraat and another of Barbar it seemed a good idea to have another one, just one, at the Black Swan.

We drank Hobgoblin and Copper Dragon and sat in front of the fire, then another, then another...I think. After bumping into one of the Ghost Walk hosts we decided it was best to head off, after all we did have to get ready for Darklands later on that evening.

Got ready for the club without too much wobbling - Cyber Dog trousers and matching circuit board pinstripe tie - and my man in the biggest boots I've ever seen, then a quick cab ride (during which I couldn't understand a single word the local cabbie said and just spent the journey smiling and nodding).

The night was really good, and we had a dance and a few drinks and bumped into a few (now) familiar faces, but did miss some people I really wanted to see. Back home I refused odd Greek food and demanded pizza (quite right too) and managed not to burn it despite being distracted...

Sunday 13th March -

Sunday began with dippy eggs and soldiers, then The Godfather part 1, then a chinese takeaway, then Franklyn (a Sin City-esque film with a focus on mental illness) then the slow realisation that I wouldn't be going home until tomorrow. Oh well, only young once ;)
