| Something in black for the weekend...? |

Friday 22nd January –
An old friend from Uni – Lucas from the band Uninvited Guest - was coming to visit this weekend and it also happened to be the very first Exile of the year so it was all set to be a great couple of days. While waiting for him to arrive the Lady C and I headed out for a drink or two at The Birdcage to get our Friday started and after meeting him and having a quick glass of wine we all headed out in the rain to the Peppermint Park Party at The Bridgehouse. Peppermint Park used to be an alternative club in Norwich until it closed down and tonight there was a kind of reunion, a little retro rock revival! I requested some Faith no More but the DJ didn’t have any cds just his mobile phone! Did dance to some vintage Offspring though...We drank and danced and caught up and wandered home at around 3am... Saturday 23rd January – Woke up feeling surprisingly alright, made some breakfast and huge cups of tea but still didn’t leave the house until 1pm! Wandered around the old, cobbled streets of Norwich before finally getting some lunch at the Ten Bells - as soon as I sat down my hangover kicked in and by the time I got my food I couldn’t face eating it. After a couple of pints (of coke) we headed to the Birdcage again, by which time I felt much better, for some tasty European beers then for another at The Rumsey Wells down the road. By then it was 6pm and time to go home, have some tea and get ready for the return of Norwich’s only goth night. Dinner, showers and IAMX’s new album later the cab arrived early and we dashed out, too late for the pub but just in time for the Waterfront and Exile.
My new Karen Millen pinstripe dress, lace waist cincher and my newest warlock style hair falls by Hair From Hell and Lucas, despite me rushing him, was in his usual gothic finest – corset, pvc trousers, lace sleeves, choker and cuff. We danced and drank and admired outfits and when the evening finished we strolled down to Hades bar for a last drink at 2.30am before getting a cab home.
