| The Bishop, the Dj and the 13 hour drinking session |
|
Saturday 21st November -
Wasn't planning on having a big day, or even a big night, but when I went round to my friends house in the afternoon and had a quick beer before going shopping it started a saturday that ended at 4am. After checking the new items in my favourite vintage shop and looking unsuccesfully for black christmas cards we stopped for a beer at HaHa's and discussed love and life. Then off to the Wig and Pen for the rugby and a couple more pints.
While sitting outside we heard a bugle and turned to see a group of people headed by one guy dressed as a Bishop. As they got closer it was obvious to see no one else was in fancy dress so we assumed a stag do. As the rest of the party went into the pub the Bish stayed outside for a smoke and told us his 'story'. Apparently he was an old raver who randomly dressed as a bishop every now and again, but not when anyone else dressed up as it wouldn't be 'special'. He then gave us a rendition of 'Jesus Saves'. After dropping in to visit the Lady C, and having a cup of tea, it was off to the White Lion and a couple games of billiards and some fine real ales. Then a cab to the Bridgehouse, the new rock pub in town, for 'Crash and Burn' the new dark rock industrial night.
By this time it was 9.30pm and we stayed there drinking, dancing and eating lollies until it closed at 2am. One of the DJ's asked if I would like to guest DJ at the next event – yes please! I should have gone home but decided to grab the last hour and a half of cock rock at 'Rival' in Hades bar.
More beers and dancing before getting a cab home to pass out at 4am...bloody hell.
