Norwich Body Art Festival - Day 2

Sunday 16th August -

Woke up feeling a little worse for wear - tired and achey, had been on my feet (read high heels) all day but had learnt from yesterday that it was best to eat breakfast and buy lunch beforehand as the first day I was so busy I didn't have a moment to stop and missed all my meals. People were queueing even further before the doors opened and everyone felt more confident now that we had made it through day 1.

The Hot Boppin Girls were back with their mops, glitter and pasties and loads of noriwch bands were joining them today. The Henry Brothers kicked things off with their blues songs about love and murder, then Mustard City Rockers took the stage while the Grafitti Jam carried on and Lady C got hair extensions.

The rest of the tattoo judging went on today - best Oriental, best Traditional, best large Black and Grey, best large Colour, best Newcomer and best in Show. I had the pleasure of welcoming everyone onto the stage and eventually handing out the awards and one fella cam up three times I think, and two out of those three he had to drop his trousers to show his ink...sporting electric pink pants with stars on. I had so much fun comparing that particular event!

After the awards there was a lot of thanking to be done then group photos of all the organisers, stewards (me included) and we got compliments from Paul Callaby about our very first festival which is high praise indeed. We decided that Lady C's lil one needed her first tattoos too so, after getting some red hair extensions, we proceeded to 'biro' classic tats all over the wee one! She loved it and announced that she was the only 5 year old with tattoos.

To play us out were Mustard again and the Pocket Godzillas and we all danced like idiots glad that the weekend had been a success and that we could finally have a beer without worrying too much!

After a beer or two at the Playhouse we headed to the after party to dance like morons with double jointed knees and elbows to classic 90's and 80's tunes while the Outline Organisers collapsed in corners.

Can't wait to see the write ups in the tattoo mags!!
